(Digital) Spring Cleaning

It’s that time of year when you open the windows, shake out the rugs, and get down to spring cleaning.  And it's a great reminder  to take a look at your website and digital presence as well.

For a variety of reasons [insert multiple excuses here], I haven't always given my own business websites the attention that they deserved.  This is the first place prospective clients and employees look for information about any company. It is paramount to put your best digital foot forward.  This is something that "everyone knows", but it is surprising how often we run across a business that has put very little effort into their website, and even less effort into SEO.

These days there is another important website feature to focus on -- responsive design.  A responsive website offers visitors the best viewing experience regardless of whether they are using a desktop computer, tablet, or mobile phone.  Website traffic is shifting to a higher percentage of mobile visitors, and we all know how frustrating it is to view a non-responsive website on a smart phone.

So with that in mind, it is my pleasure to announce that we have launched a total rebuild of our website.  While we used to work almost exclusively in the hospitality sector, we now work with a variety of industries including:  entertainers, retail, and restaurants. We wanted our new site to reflect that expansion, as well as show off our new branding that was unveiled a couple of months ago.  Our old site was responsive, but our new one offers an even more robust mobile experience.  I hope that if you are reading this right now on your phone that you are enjoying your experience.  For the next step, our ‘SEO Guy’ Shawn will take over and work his magic on the website.  This doesn't affect end user experience but it does help you find Thin Pig Media and information on our website easier. Oh, and while you are here, I would like to point out the word cloud to the right that makes it easier than ever to explore topics.

I tip my cap to the whole team for putting this together, and in particular Pete who was the architect and one of our longest term team members.  This is only the beginning.  We have already locked in the date for the first of many website reviews, where we will take an hour or two as a team and walk through the site page by page to make sure it is fresh and up to date.  We look at our clients’ websites every day, but it had been a while since we took a hard look at ours. Thanks for checking out our new site, it’s great to see you and we hope you come back often!
